Jesus is the sacred heart. The child in the piece is baby Jesus. The skeleton is Mary. What does the blood mean pouring from her mouth and eyes?
It is very painterly and makes use of strong icons.
It is laden with meaning, what does it mean to you, the artist?
To me it means you are well exposed to iconic Christian paintings and have a skilled hand.

I think this is absolutely brilliant, in both the conceptual and practical execution. It's a shame great pieces like this don't get the Daily Dev's.
